Heres the finished window,
temporarily installed, final
installation won't happen till most
everything else is in the car. To
the right is a shot that shows
how nice the borders are with my
masking procedure. Below is the
last window being fitted to the
car. If ya notice there are no
corners on the rear window,
which makes it fun to figure the
screw spacing. Usually I start at
one corner, mark the other corner
and then split the difference. This
window shape eliminates that.
Hey Vanilla Matt,
your car is in this
pic can Ya find
it??
The rear window also needs bracing,
rather than adding something to the
chassis I build them out of aluminum. They
fasten only to the window and can be
reused if the window needs replaced.
Below are the blanks that I start with. Its
hard to see in the photo but there is a
slight curve in the window that has to be
transfered to the braces.
Heres a neat tool we use
a lot! It is a pilotless
broach cutter, use a
punch to dimple the
material and thats it.
Much faster than drilling
a bunch of pilot holes.
Below is the finished
brace, or at least one of
em.
This is the finished
master cylinder mount
with reservoir. Pretty
cool, eh? The line loc is
mounted right below, the
brake light switch is
under the linkage, above
the line loc. Nice and tidy!
